Description from the seller
Erosione — Sculptural Vessel (Unique Piece)
Hand-built terracotta sculptural vessel by Valentina Cojocaru.
A quiet object shaped by earth, touch and time.
Part of the Erosione collection, this vessel is conceived as an exploration of primordial forms found in nature. Its generous body rises from a narrow base before expanding into a soft, floating volume, recalling the silent balance of weathered stones, seeds, and ancient ceramic archetypes shaped over centuries.
Entirely hand-built through the traditional coiling technique, every layer of clay is slowly assembled, compressed and refined by hand. Rather than imposing geometry, the making process follows the natural behavior of the material, allowing subtle asymmetries and gentle tensions to emerge. The surface is meticulously scraped and sanded, then left completely raw and unglazed so the warmth, softness and mineral depth of the natural terracotta remain fully perceptible.
Nothing is concealed beneath glaze or decoration. The beauty of the piece resides in proportion, touch and the quiet honesty of the clay itself. Suitable as a sculptural vessel for dried arrangements or as a standalone artwork. Not watertight.
A unique piece. Hand signed by the artist.
Artisan: Valentina Cojocaru
Manufacturing technique: Entirely hand-built through traditional coiling technique
Material: Natural red earthenware
Surface: Raw, matte, unglazed
Origin: Made in Italy
Studio: Lea Studios
