Description from the seller
Organdy rectangular tablecloth 300 X 176 cm with 14 square napkins 40 cm square.
Because I do not have a table long enough to show it all, I have photographed half the tablecloth on the table so you can have an idea of what it looks like. It is perfect for a table set for 12 or for a long buffet table.
The style of the tablecloth embroidery is meant to suggest the effect of shadow embroidery on organdy where the stiching is done on one side but to be seen on the other with only the rim of the stiching showing and the colour in between appearing as a shadow. In this version, instead of shadow stiching, flowers made of yellow and green cloth are stiched on the back side and appear on the right side as a shadow of color edged by stiching. If you prefer a brighter look, it can be used on the other side as well as both sides look well finished. The edge is scaloped all around and looks quite lovely when hanging off the table side. You will need to put a white or pale yellow cloth beneath it as it is too thin and transparent to go directly on a wood table.
I must admit I do not know exactly where it was made nor when my mother bought it. She had a busy social life with frequent formal sit down dinners for 12 during a period that ended in 1980. So I am assuming she bought it before .then. She spent summers in Italy and always returned with linens and tablecloths. from Florence. So, I am assuming this could be one of her purchases. I frankly do not know.
I ship in box and with track number.
I am posting many other of my mothers' unused tablecloths for 12.
Thank you for looking.
