Description from the seller
An extremely rare and mechanical masterpiece from the golden age of the Singer Manufacturing Company is offered: a Singer 48K hand sewing machine from 1904, produced at the legendary Kilbowie factory in Scotland.
This model was produced only for a short period (1900–1913) and today is an absolute rarity, unlike the common Singer 15 or 27/28 models.
Unique condition and completeness:
Fully Working: The mechanism runs smoothly. The sewing machine uses the rare short shuttle (transverse shuttle) mechanism, which remains in excellent mechanical condition.
Includes Original Bobbin Case & Bobbin: This specimen is complete and ready for immediate use or display.
Ottoman Carnation Decals: The machine is fitted with the iconic and highly sought-after 'Ottoman Carnation' gold transfers, which, given its age of over 120 years, are still beautifully preserved.
