The Wandalà are the most important ethnic group in the kingdom of Wandalà.

The Wandalà had as neighbors and enemies the Bornu, militarily superior.

But the Wandalà, very organized in guarding their cattle, could equip their front lines with full armor and this bell-shaped shield whose vernacular name is glagwa.
