Monumental Trumeau in Radica with Radica di Noce and bronze fittings, dating to 1960–1970, in Barocchetto Veneziano / Luigi XV style.
Description from the seller
TITLE: MAGNIFICENT AND MONUMENTAL VENETIAN TRUMEAU IN BURL WOOD – HEIGHT 260 CM
DESCRIPTION:
A masterpiece of elegance and visual impact for exclusive interiors.
Are you looking for a unique piece of furniture capable of catching the eye and radically transforming the atmosphere of a living room, a study, or a prestigious library? This extraordinary Trumeau (fold-down cabinet with a raised upper section) in a double-body form is the perfect answer.
Made in the mid-20th century by Italian master cabinetmakers in the full Venetian Baroque / Louis XV style, the piece bears no signatures or inscriptions, presenting itself as a work of high furniture craftsmanship. With a striking height of 260 cm, it presents itself as a monumental piece with supreme scenic impact, ideal for enhancing rooms with high ceilings.
Strengths and Details of Excellence:
Splendid Burl Wood Veneering: The entire external surface is clad in premium burl wood (walnut/olive), arranged in geometric reserves and a fishbone pattern. The spectacular natural grain of the wood creates a play of warm, vivid, luxurious tones.
Elegant Contours and Curves: The piece features a complex formed and domed workmanship, visible on the front and the sides. Nothing is square; every line follows the sinuous elegance typical of eighteenth-century splendor.
Coordinated high-quality upholstery: The inside of the upper display and the bottom of the main drawers are elegantly lined with a refined light glossy damask fabric, perfect for highlighting the contents.
Three Pieces in One (Maximum Functionality):
1 The Lower Body: A spacious chest of drawers with 3 large drawers and magnificent bronze handles and inlays in foliate motifs.
2 The Central Folding Front: The drop-front opens to reveal a splendid interior secretary (stipo) with 4 burl wood document drawers and open compartments, perfect as a secretaire or writing corner.
3 The Upper Display: A majestic two-door vitrine with glass panels and mirrored fittings.
Author’s Crest: The piece is crowned at the top by a sumptuous carved cornice with volutes that centrally houses a small shaped mirror.
Security: The doors, drawers and fall-front are equipped for lockable closure via integrated locks.
Monumental Dimensions:
Maximum height: 260 cm
Maximum width: 130 cm
Depth (closed): 62 cm
Condition:
The furniture is in excellent overall vintage condition. Structurally sound, solid and ready to be placed in a home. All movable elements (doors, drawers, fall-front) slide and operate perfectly. Only very light and normal signs of aging on the surface, testifying to its history and authenticity from the mid-1900s (note a slight natural era crack in the paneling of the crest, beneath the upper mirror, which does not compromise aesthetics or stability). Clean interior fabric, intact glass and mirrors. Photos of the back show the wood’s solidity and health.
NOTE FOR TRANSPORT: To facilitate moving, relocation and delivery, the piece can be divided into two separate sections (the base chest and the upper display cabinet detach easily).
Info on Shipping / Pickup:
Given its monumentality and value, pickup on site in the province of Milan is offered exclusively. The seller guarantees maximum availability and cooperation should the buyer prefer to send their own special transport company or trusted private courier.
