Shelf - Wood

Antique French Napoleon III (or Victorian) turned-legged display shelf (étagère), also known in British cabinetmaking as a "whatnot". Such open, multi-tiered shelves were popular in the second half of the 19th century (1850s–1890s) for displaying books, china, and other fine decorative objects.
Key features:
Structure: A four-tiered, fully open wooden stand.
Columns: Ornately crafted, turned (so-called bobbins) vertical supports.
Decoration: The corners of the top shelf are capped with delicate, carved finials.
The shelves have a stepped design around the edges for a delicate look.
Legs: The structure is held above the ground by stylish, turned ball legs.

It is in very good condition for its age, with a few signs of use, small, faint scratches on the shelves, but not deep. We tried to take photos so that everything is visible.
