Coin of 5 Mils in a base alloy with the characteristic central hole, a distinctive feature of the British Mandate issues in Palestine. The design features a wreath of stylized branches on the obverse and the face value in three languages — English, Hebrew and Arabic — reflecting the complex administrative and cultural reality of the territory. The reliefs are well defined with little wear, preserving full details in leaves and typography. A representative specimen of the late issues preceding the end of the Mandate in 1948, during a period of intense political transformation in the region.
