1 Riyal silver coin minted during the brief reign of the imam and king Muhammad al-Badr, last sovereign of the Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen. The obverse features an elegant Arabic calligraphic composition with the name and titles of the monarch within an elaborate frame of vegetal arabesques, characteristic of traditional Islamic art. The reverse shows a stylized vegetal branch surrounded by a braided ornamental border, maintaining the decorative aesthetic typical of mid-20th-century Arabic numismatics. The specimen preserves a natural satin original luster, with sharp reliefs, relatively clean fields and light contact marks compatible with its grade MS64. This coin also has notable historical interest as it corresponds to the last year of Yemen's monarchy, overthrown after the 1962 Republican revolution, becoming a numismatic testimony of one of the most transformative periods in modern Yemeni history.
