Description from the seller
The Mamiya RB67 is one of the most iconic and respected medium-format cameras in the history of professional photography. Manufactured by the Japanese company Mamiya from the 1970s onward, it became famous for its extraordinary image quality, extremely robust build, and a highly versatile modular system. The name “RB” stands for “Rotating Back,” in reference to the renowned rotating back that allows a quick switch from horizontal to vertical format without having to rotate the entire camera.
The RB67 uses 120 or 220 medium format film and yields large negatives capable of delivering a level of detail, tonal depth, and overall photographic quality well above the classic 35 mm. The body is large, heavy, and imposing, a feature that makes it instantly recognizable and particularly beloved in professional photo studios.
The viewfinder, as can be seen from the photos, has some parts missing. the shutter is missing.
Completely mechanical in its main versions, the Mamiya RB67 requires a slow, deliberate approach to photography. Each step of the shot—from focusing to cocking the shutter—happens manually, offering a very technical and engaging photographic experience. The integrated bellows also allow for extremely precise focusing, which is very useful for portrait, still life, and macro photography.
