Pair of English sterling silver-mounted cranberry glass bud vases by H. Perkins & Sons of Chester, dating to 1915, each 20 cm high, 7 cm wide and 7 cm deep, in good condition with a small internal chip to one stem and overall 925 silver mounts.
Description from the seller
Pair of English Sterling Silver-Mounted Cranberry Glass Bud Vases – H. Perkins & Sons, Chester, 1915
An elegant pair of English sterling silver-mounted bud vases by H. Perkins & Sons, assayed at Chester and fully hallmarked for 1915. Each vase features a beautifully fluted clear glass body graduating into a rich cranberry glass foot, raised on six delicately applied feet. The refined proportions and subtle colour contrast are characteristic of high-quality English decorative glass from the late Edwardian period.
The original sterling silver mounts remain in good condition and retain crisp hallmarks. Their graceful, matching form makes them equally suited to display with a single bloom or simply as decorative cabinet pieces, where the quality of both the silver and glass can be fully appreciated.
Condition is very good overall. One vase has a small internal chip within the interior of the stem, which is not visible externally, does not affect the structure, and has no impact on the overall presentation or display.
A highly decorative and increasingly collectible pair of antique English silver-mounted art glass bud vases, combining elegant design, quality craftsmanship and full British hallmarks.
