Description from the seller
French 900 Silver Enamelled Trinket Box with Harbour Scene – Mid-20th Century
Description
Elegant French trinket or cigarette box crafted in 900 silver, featuring a finely executed enamelled harbour scene protected beneath a glass panel. The decoration depicts numerous sailing boats peacefully moored in a marina, rendered in soft Impressionist colours that beautifully contrast with the silver frame.
The box is stamped 900 confirming the silver fineness, together with the maker's mark. The interior retains its original gilt finish, adding an elegant contrast to the exterior silver surface.
Its clean geometric design and refined marine decoration make it both a practical collector's item and an attractive decorative object representative of French silverwork from the mid-20th century.
Condition
The piece is in good overall antique condition, with normal signs of age and use. Light surface scratches and a natural patina are present on the silver. The enamel decoration remains well preserved and the hinge functions correctly. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
