Description from the seller
- Teapots or milk jugs in silvered metal and alpacca (nickel silver), with a truncated-cone design typical of Art Deco. They were produced by historic German companies such as WMF or Berndorf between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their geometric, clean design is characteristic of breakfast or tea items made in the 1930s.
- Producers:
- Wellner (Germany): Famous for heavy silverware and hotel silver of exceptional durability. Between the 1920s and 1930s it produced splendid tea and coffee services in Art Deco style, characterized by pure geometries and glossy, mirror-like finishes.
- Berndorf / Arthur Krupp (Austria): One of the most iconic manufactories of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It collaborated with the greatest designers of the twentieth century (including Gio Ponti in Italy in the 1930s) to create truncated-cone and cylindrical breakfast services in alpacca or silvered metal distributed worldwide.
- Wiskemann (Belgium): Known as the "Belgian Christofle," the high-jewelry house founded in Brussels at the end of the nineteenth century was an official supplier to transatlantic liners and major hotels. Their Art Deco pieces from the 1930s share exactly this essential aesthetic, with minimalist spouts and integrated geometric handles.
