This is the lid of the box of the rare Vintage LEGO Town Plan (Set 810-2, released in 1961). The iconic illustration shows children playing with the then LEGO System, which at the time was bundled with a detailed cardboard road map (Set 246).
Rare collector's item: Complete copies of this set from the early sixties are very rare and can fetch hundreds to thousands of euros on collector platforms such as eBay.
Part of history: This set marked an important era when LEGO grew into a beloved city-building system in the Netherlands.
Exhibitions: The iconic packaging and contents of this type of old LEGO System boxes are still displayed as cultural heritage, including at the Museum of the 20th Century.
