Misto brand, a complete 12‑issue 1971 Quattroruote collection in Italian on automobiles and motor sport, each volume with intact original inserts, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
Complete collection, sequential and magnificently preserved, of the entire 1971 issue year of the historic Italian automotive magazine "Quattroruote", from issue 181 (January) to issue 192 (December).
The year 1971 represents one of the most iconic, revolutionary and historically relevant moments in European automotive publishing, marked by the debut of cars that have made history.
THE REAL ADDED VALUE (Collector’s Item):
The extraordinary and extremely rare feature of this lot is that EACH of the 12 magazines preserves, around halfway through the volume, its original fold-out special insert with multiple panels (3 or 4 pages laid out). These inserts were often torn out by readers of the era to be used as posters or wore out with use. In this lot all of them are present, intact, never detached, and still perfectly anchored to the original binding.
Among the spectacular inserts and covers included in the year are:
- Alfa Romeo Alfasud: The eagerly awaited debut in December 1971, complete with the exclusive three-panel technical insert "The Alfasud X-rays" with the engine boxer cutaway.
- Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa: Wonderful artistic and historical three-panel insert dedicated to the 1959 Pininfarina Spider.
- De Tomaso Pantera: Large three-panel technical insert with the exploded view of the mid-mounted Ford V8 engine.
- Fiat 127: The rare and sought-after three-panel technical insert "transparent" cutaway of the debut (May 1971) and the February preview.
- Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1.6 HF: The detailed technical cutaway of the legendary competition “Fanalone” headlight.
- Lotus-Ford 72 F1: The three-panel cutaway of the legendary Lotus Team Formula 1 single-seater signed by Giorgio Piola.
- Cisitalia 202 Coupé (1948): Splendid large-format color artistic insert dedicated to Pininfarina’s masterpiece.
- Moto Guzzi "Mulo Meccanico" 3x3: The extremely rare cutaway and technical feature of the famous three-wheeled military motor vehicle.
- Sigma Grand Prix Pininfarina (1969): The fold-out insert on the F1 prototype studied for safety in collaboration with Quattroruote.
- Vintage Road Maps: The original three-panel color map "Italy’s Highways 1971" perfectly clean.
CONDITION:
All 12 issues retain the same splendid vintage condition visible in the photos. The spines are intact, solid, compact and fully legible, free of tape or repairs. The covers retain bright colors and are completely free of handwritten notes, doodles or old subscribers’ stamps. Interior pages are fresh, complete and flexible (only the normal, very light natural yellowing of time on the paper edges, consistent with an age of over 50 years). A true archival lot.
SHIPPING AND PACKAGING:
Tracked and fast shipping. Each magazine weighs 800 grams; the packed lot will have an overall weight of approximately 10-11 kg. It will be meticulously packed: the bundle of magazines will be sealed in a moisture-protective film and placed in a professional rigid box with adequate padding to safeguard the corners and the integrity of the volumes during transport.
