Up for auction is an exclusive pair of historical Zenit E SLR cameras (body only), aesthetically restored and reinterpreted in an artistic key through meticulous hands-on laboratory craftsmanship.

The original leatherette has been completely removed and hand-replaced with two refined and unique finishes, using professionally printed material, transforming these iconic beasts of Soviet-era photography into true works of art and collectible items.

The two models in detail:
Zenit E Silver (Finish: Damascened / Classic Geometries):
The body accepts a coating featuring a sumptuous classic geometric Damascene-inspired motif. Warm bronze and gold tones create a perfect contrast with the metallic silver body finish, recalling the elegance of high textile and decorative craftsmanship of days gone by.

Zenit E All-Black (Finish: Historic-Literary):
The rare all-black Zenit E frames a coating with deep cultural impact. The pattern celebrates the artistic and literary universe of the past: cameos with classic period portraits alternating with gilded ornamental motifs, open books, inkwinds and quills for writing. A piece with strong evocative and romantic character.

Condition and Restoration:
The cameras underwent laboratory work to replace the coating.

Aesthetics: As visible in the detailed photos, the application of the new decorative skin was carried out with precision around the controls, the self-timer, and the logos. The bodies show the normal charming signs of time on the metal parts, attesting to their historical authenticity.

Mechanics: Shutter speeds and loading are responsive, the shutter curtains are intact, and the self-timer loads and fires correctly. The selenium cell of the light meter reacts to light (however, due to the age of the instruments, photometric millimeter precision cannot be guaranteed). The viewfinders show the usual tiny specks of dust typical of their age, which do not impede use.
