In the auction, an exclusive pair of vintage Bencini Comet 127 S cameras (made in Italy by C.M.F. Bencini Milano in the 1950s), skillfully restored and transformed into true, unique works of art.
The original black leatherette was completely removed and replaced with two customized author coverings, reinterpreting Italian industrial design in two opposing and fascinating cultural-visual keys.
The "Comet S" Steampunk: A tribute to the retro-futurist aesthetics of steam and the early industrial era. The covering features extremely fine geometric details with golden gears, valve tubes, gauge dials and copper tubing on a dark background. It pairs wonderfully with the camera body’s polished aluminum alloy finish.
The "Comet S" Giuseppe Verdi: A celebration of the great Italian opera. The graphic covering evokes a dynamic theatrical collage in gold, black and burgundy tones. On the body and back of the camera stand out the names of the Maestro of Busseto’s most famous works, such as Aida, Rigoletto and La Traviata, enriched with musical notes and theatrical masks.
Conditions:
