Description from the seller
Anatomical torso model with detachable head and organs, Japan
This impressive Japanese anatomical torso model stands 82 cm tall and consists of 14 detachable parts, making it an exceptionally complete and detailed educational model. The head shows on one side a realistically painted male face, while the other half reveals the underlying anatomy with skull, muscles, eyeball, and nasal cavity. The torso is fully opened at the front and shows, in layered construction, all major organs, each of which can be removed separately.
The 14 separate parts include the lungs in multiple segments with detailed depiction of the lung lobes and blood vessels, the heart with the aorta and large vessels, the liver with gallbladder, the stomach, the intestinal package with large and small intestine, the spleen and other abdominal organs. Each part is carefully color-graded with red arteries, blue veins, and green airways, increasing the didactic value of the model. The whole sits on a yellow rectangular base.
The condition is good for its age, with light signs of use appropriate for a model that has been used in an educational or medical setting. A rare and impressive life-size educational model, valuable for the collector of medical and scientific objects.
