AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful, very large XXL shell with light coloration Charonia tritonis - colloquial name for the Triton trumpet or giant Triton, it is a species of a very large sea snail, a mollusk of the marine snail from the family Charoniidae, tritons. It is one of the largest mollusks on a coral reef. The shell is thick and heavy, strongly coiled into the shape of an elongated tower. It ends sharply at the summit, gradually widening toward the aperture.

Strongly ribbed, with prominent spiral ribs and knobs. The color of the shell is most often yellowish, cream, or brown with irregular, darker spots and streaks. The aperture (shell opening) is large, wide, oval.

The interior is smooth, often orange, pink, or reddish-brown, contrasting with the exterior surface of the shell. The outer lip is thick, sometimes wavy, often with delicate dentitions.

Distinctive features - thanks to its large size and characteristic structure, it has been used in many cultures as a wind instrument (conch trumpet).

It is appreciated by collectors and has significance in art and rituals. Dimensions - 140×220×370 mm. I highly recommend it to collectors and interior decorators.
