Description from the seller
The Rittreck IIA with Luminar 105mm f3.5 (delivered without film back, with box and original strap)
The Rittreck IIA is a reflex camera with a maximum 6x9 horizontal format, manufactured by the Japanese company Musashino Kōki between 1955 and 1965. Musashino would later become known for its 6x6 reflex Norita or its folding view cameras and Vista. The brand has always been recognized for the finesse and mechanical elegance of its products (for example: Vista view cameras feature a completely novel lateral front shift/tilt system on a folding camera, even including Linhof Technika).
The Rittreck IIA is a studio-style reflex camera in the American Graflex tradition that it draws inspiration from. It is equipped with a focal-plane shutter whose speeds range from 1/2 sec to 1/400 sec. It can accept lenses with focal lengths greater than 90 mm.
Main characteristics:
- Aluminum alloy body
- Vertical-travel focal-plane shutter
- Slow speeds from 1/2 sec to 1/20 sec
- Fast speeds up to 1/400 sec
- Synchro-X
- Focusing by moving the front plate (focus rail with bellows)
- 6x9 ground glass with folding hood and loupe
- Sports finder
- Interchangeable backs for 120 roll film to Plaubel-type mounting (i.e., Makina). Rittreck backs exist in 6x9, 6x7, 6x6, 6x4.5 formats. They are relatively hard to find in Europe, which is not the case for European models in the Plaubel standard.
- Standard lens Luminar 105mm F3.5
- Apertures from f/3.5 to f/22
- Weight (with the Luminar 105mm and without back): 1.5 kg
- Dimensions: 20 x 13 x 14 cm
- The lens is mounted on a board, which theoretically allows the use of all kinds of large-format optics with a focal length greater than 90 mm
- It was distributed in the USA and the United Kingdom under the Optika brand.
