Offered is an attractive collection of 13 natural rough spinels from the famous Luc Yen mining district in Vietnam, with a total weight of 184.30 carats.
Luc Yen is internationally recognised for producing some of the world's finest spinels, appreciated for their vivid colours, excellent crystal habit and exceptional brilliance once cut.
This parcel displays a beautiful range of colours from vibrant pinkish-red to deeper purplish-red tones. Several crystals exhibit well-formed crystal faces and good transparency, while others retain natural growth structures typical of untreated spinel. Under UV light the stones display strong red fluorescence, a highly desirable characteristic commonly associated with chromium-bearing spinels.
