Statue, Ombra della sera - 35 cm - Bronze - 1960

This statuette is a bronze reproduction of the famous Etruscan sculpture known as the Shadow of the Evening. A votive bronze from the 3rd century BCE preserved at the Guarnaccia Etruscan Museum in Volterra.
The statue depicts a naked male figure, extremely elongated and slender, with arms pressed to the sides and a meticulously shaped head.
The exaggerated proportions of this work have inspired contemporary artists, particularly Alberto Giacometti.
