Description from the seller
A rare and highly specialized vintage lot consisting of 3 authentic Rodan DK24 Dekatron glow-transfer counting tubes, manufactured in Japan by Okaya Musen Company Limited.
Unlike standard audio tubes, a Dekatron is a specialized cold-cathode decimal counting tube used in the 1950s and 1960s. They were engineered for early computing architectures, industrial automation, and high-end scientific laboratory equipment like vintage Geiger counters and timers. When operational, a bright orange neon dot steps sequentially in a circle around the cathodes.
The DK24 is a 40-cathode single-pulse selector model featuring a fast 20 kHz counting speed and a distinct, proprietary 14-pin loctal base design. Finding a group of 3 pieces in pristine condition is an incredible opportunity for niche electronics collectors, historical computer restoration specialists, or hobbyists building custom vintage tube clocks.
Condition and Packaging:
These are New Old Stock (NOS) / New in Box (NIB) pristine vintage items. They come preserved perfectly inside their original yellow and black factory Rodan retail boxes. The packaging and the glass tubes inside are in immaculate, clean condition.
The tubes are completely untested on specialized scientific equipment. However, because they are brand new, unused NOS stock preserved in clean storage across the decades, there is no visible or structural reason they will not function perfectly.
Shipping:
Free Worldwide Shipping from Armenia. The lot will be meticulously wrapped in thick bubble layers and packed inside a robust outer box to guarantee these rare, fragile glass components reach you safely anywhere in the world. Fully tracked and insured.
