1. Russo-Balt S24/40 Limousine (links) Black closed body. The prototype is one of the most prestigious automobiles of the Russian Empire (ca. 1912–1914). Such vehicles were used by wealthy individuals and state institutions.
2. Russo-Balt Torpedo (Mitte) Green open body. A very typical model of the early 20th century. Rich detailing: brass headlights, steering wheel, tools, spare wheel.
3. Russo-Balt Torpedo (rechts) The same model, but in black version. For collectors, different colors count as distinct variants.
About the model maker On the packaging it only says: “Russo-Balt. Car model. Scale 1:43.” Such models were produced in small series by Russian manufacturers for collector models. They: feature a metal body (Die-Cast); are equipped with many individual parts; were assembled in small batches; are no longer manufactured today.
Historical background information The real Russo-Balt plant was the first large Russian automobile factory. It produced automobiles from about 1909 to 1918 in Riga, before production was partially evacuated during World War I. Russo-Balt automobiles: participated in international endurance drives; were considered very reliable; were used by the Tsar family...
