Description from the seller

FINLAND. Helsinki. 50 Pennia. 1916. Nicholas II (1894-1917)

- Face value: 50 Pennia.
- Reign: Nicholas II (1894-1917).
- Year: 1916.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: crowned Russian imperial eagle with central shield and the mint mark S under the wing; beaded perimetral border. Reverse: 50 PENNIÄ 1916 within a vegetal crown tied with a lower ribbon; beaded perimetral border.
- Grade: MS65 (NGC).

50 Pennia silver coin minted for the Grand Duchy of Finland under the sovereignty of the Russian Empire, with the heraldic-style imperial double-headed eagle and a strong symbolic presence. The relief is well defined, especially in the wings and central shield, preserving original luster with a slight uniform silver patina. The fields show small marks typical of the grade, maintaining an overall fresh and attractive appearance. The reverse, with clear, balanced typography framed by a laurel and oak crown, reflects the aesthetic sobriety characteristic of early 20th-century Finnish issues, in a historical context marked by tensions leading up to Finland’s independence in 1917.

Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to be absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped by your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs/legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
