Antique theatre lorgette with brass body and mother-of-pearl inlay, 7 cm high, 21 cm wide, 4 cm deep, made in France, dating to the late 19th century, in very good cosmetic condition and tested and working.

Object title: Ancient theater binoculars with handle (lorgnette) in brass and mother-of-pearl – Late 19th Century
Description: Elegant pair of opera/theater binoculars from the late 19th century (19th century, circa 1880-1900) equipped with its original lorgnette handle. The frame and barrels are fully ornate in gilded brass.
The optical barrels as well as the flat handle are richly coated with genuine mother-of-pearl plaques, offering superb iridescent reflections. The central focus knob is also carved in mother-of-pearl.
The right eyepiece bears the circular inscription engraved originally: "Breveté de perfectionnement", testifying to French mechanical innovations of the period on spectacle lorgnette systems.
Materials: gilded brass and genuine mother-of-pearl. Era: Late 19th century (Belle Époque / Napoleon III).
Overall condition: Good aesthetic state of conservation. The mother-of-pearl displays a superb luster. The focusing mechanism is functional.
