Bird Punishment Photo Poem is a collection of photographs by Kenji Ishiguro, one of Japan's leading post-war photographers. Kenji Ishiguro is best known for his masterpiece Hiroshima -Hiroshima Now-, a portrait of the oiled-up Ken Takakura during the ‘Zankyoden’ series for several years from 1969, and for his portraits of literary figures, entertainers and artists during the era of rapid economic growth and the booming of Japan. He is also an artist who has demonstrated his talent in a wide range of fields, including film directing, scriptwriting, video and fiction. This book, Bird Punishment, a collection of works published in 1976, is a photo-poem in collaboration with the poet Teruji Takagi. It includes works such as ‘Sleep Love’, which captures the enchanting nudity of a woman. Incidentally, Kenji Ishiguro's first private novel was also published in 1980 under the title Sleepy Love.
