Description from the seller

No Reserve

Five-light chandelier, completely handmade by a Murano master glassmaker, a true classic of Murano glass, with rich decorations in opaline glass and carmine pink.
All pieces are similar, but not identical, due to the entirely artisanal craftsmanship.

Bright and luminous in the various lighting conditions: see all the photos. It illuminated the center of a small shop in Venice, now under restoration. The previous owner recalls that they were purchased at the Murano Furnace, but due to the era the purchase documents were not kept.

Rare opaline glass with decorations in carmine pink.
Complete and in good condition.
Dating: approx. 1980..

It has 5 arms with upward-facing floral cups, all edged in pink. On the arms are hung pretty garlands. In the center 5 tall flowers with opaline stems and pink flowers.

Width: 57 cm Height: 60 cm approximately. With chain the height can be adjusted up to 100 cm.
A classic, luminous Murano chandelier, particularly suitable for a classic setting, but also modern due to its rare and elegant opaline glass.
The photos with environmental inserts are shown to hint at the versatility of this splendid example of Murano’s art.

Complete with all the pieces. Note a few small defects shown in the final six photos; one candle holder is slightly different from the others (perhaps replaced later); a small absence on the morise of the final cap and a chip on the upper edge of the base. All of this is almost invisible when the chandelier is mounted.

Electrical system works. Socket for E14 bulbs,
The chandelier has only been dusted to maintain its light patina of time, but can be washed before installation if desired.

Will be shipped disassembled, with assembly instructions for safer transport.

Shipping only to continental EU countries, excluding islands.

Seller's Story

I mainly collect Murano chandeliers thanks to the collaboration with some companies that restore apartments and palaces in Venice. In this way, over time, I have recovered the chandeliers of elegant and often ancient houses in the lagoon and in the nearby areas. Murano glass has an incomparable charm: every piece, even the simplest, has a story hidden in its fragility and its iridescent light.
