Description from the seller

GENERAL:
BMW - 318 Cabriolet - 1992. Approximately 110,000 kms. Gorgeous BMW cabriolet, a 92 jewel, spectacular and pristine. A car to be able to use year-round. Car imported from Germany in 2012 according to the documentation. Bought in Madrid from a private individual in August 2012, with the sales contract available. The car has been stationary since 2023. Designed under the direction of Claus Luthe by Boyke Boyer, the BMW 3 Series E30 Cabriolet is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and sought-after four-seat convertibles of its era, famous for its clean silhouette with no B-pillar and for being BMW’s first convertible fully developed in its own facilities after decades of external collaborations.

BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The paintwork on the car is immaculate, it has a small mark on the driver's door in white. The rest is 9/10. It’s as I bought it, repainted and polished to perfection. The window seals are stiff and cracked. The driver's door makes a bit of noise when opening and closing, the others are perfect. The electric roof needs a touch-up.

MECHANICS:
Equipped with the reliable 1.8-liter BMW engine, it starts first time both cold and hot. Although the original ad mentions a carburetor, this 1992 model comes from the factory with the M40 engine and electronic fuel injection of the era. In terms of mechanicals, no apparent issues; the suspension is factory-lowered M suspension as per documentation. The rest is fine, tires with few miles, timing belt and clutch without problems. It requires a new battery, radiator inspection, and a general tune-up after being parked since 2023.

INTERIOR:
Originally it was fabric and was converted to leather, entire carpeting and seats. As it is leather, the seats show some marks that can be seen in the photographs; the side of the driver's seat has been reupholstered. Dashboard without cracks and in good condition. The gauge cluster lights do not all work. The odometer needs a check, as it fails and does not display speed or mileage. Power windows function perfectly. Central locking is disconnected and the doors must be opened with the key.

DOCUMENTATION:
Vehicle imported from Germany in 2012 and registered. Bought in Madrid from a private individual in August 2012, with the sales contract available. It includes the lowered M suspension noted in the technical documentation.

PICKUP:
Local pickup in the municipality of Cartagena, Murcia Region, Spain.

OTHER INFORMATION:
The vehicle requires a touch-up on the electric roof, a new battery, repair or replacement of the odometer, radiator inspection, and a mechanical tune-up after having been stationary since 2023.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
