For sale is an antique Junghans wall clock in the Biedermeier style – 19th century – For hobbyists / restoration
Description:
For sale is an antique, decorative wall clock from the renowned German clockmaker Junghans. The case is crafted in the classic Biedermeier style, made of ebonized (blackened) wood and adorned with a striking gilded pediment with a winged putto/angel head. The dial shows Roman numerals and delicate, floral gold paintings in the corners.
Manufacturer: Junghans (original eight-pointed star with a "J" embossed on the movement plate)
Movement: Mechanical chain-wound movement made of brass, visually in a very clean condition.
Special feature: On the inside of the case there is a historical handwritten clockmaker's note dated "15. Nov. 1953".
Condition: The wooden case shows age-appropriate, light signs of wear and minimal paint chipping (see photos).
Important note on scope & function: The clock is expressly sold in found condition as untested / defective for hobbyists. No weights and no pendulum are included with the delivery.
Perfectly suitable as a parts donor or as a beautiful base for a professionally executed restoration.
