A vintage Italian extendable dining table with a walnut wood frame and a glass top, featuring two independent wooden extension leaves and a Mid‑Century Modern / Classical Modern style, circa 1950s–1970s, in used condition with surface wear.
Description from the seller
Extending Vintage Walnut Dining Table and Fine Wood with a Glass Top – Mid-Century Style / Classical Modern – Italy, Circa 1950/1970
On auction, an elegant and functional vintage rectangular dining table of Italian manufacture, dating from the mid-20th century. The table beautifully blends the warmth of wood with the formal clarity and visual lightness typical of Mid-Century design.
The supporting structure and legs are made in warm walnut tones and fine essences. The four legs feature a refined inverted pyramid trunk profile with vertical geometric grooves and a tapered upper section, elements that elongate the silhouette without sacrificing stability.
The main top is entirely made and protected by a large original glass pane from the period, resting atop the structure. The great functional value of the table lies in its proven “pull-out” extension system: the two wide side leaf extensions in wood, recessed under the glass top, are independently draw-out from either side, greatly expanding the resting surface for guests and creating a fascinating material contrast between the glass center and the wooden wings.
A versatile, highly classy furnishing piece, ideal for dining rooms, large living areas, or professional studies with vintage, modernist, or contemporary classic taste.
