Biomorphic sculptural vase –

Unique piece

Splendid vase/bowl with an organic and strongly expressive form, handmade with mixed ceramic techniques. The work presents a powerful material duality: the outer part, in brown-earth color with natural veins and streaks, evokes bark, rock, or fossilized wood, while the upper edge opens into an explosion of irregular white material, almost foamy and coral-like, with fractures and undulations that create a suggestive tactile and visual contrast.

This biomorphic ceramic sculpture recalls forms found in nature — crushed shells, limestone caves, corals, or primordial eggs — interpreted with great artistic sensitivity. The jagged edge and the porous inner surface give the object a living, almost transforming character, perfect both as a sculptural piece for display and as a visually impactful decorative container.

Technical details:
Dimensions: 22 × 20 × 18 cm (width × depth × height)
Weight: 3.35 kg

Technique: Hand-formed ceramic, engobes and special finishes

Condition: New object

A work with a strong contemporary and primordial character at the same time, ideal for collectors of author ceramic, organic art and sculptural design. A unique piece that dialogues magnificently with minimalist, wabi-sabi, or nature-inspired interiors. Perfect for those seeking an object that is both art and a powerful material presence in space.

Max Modolo produces these ceramics in his studio in Italy.
His research concerns the shapes of ceramic forms and their finishes.
He is very interested in glazes developed by artists such as Guido Gambone and Marcello Fantoni and has always been drawn to the forms of Lucie Rie and Hans Coper.
