Description from the seller

GENERAL:

Very special, fun and rare DAF 66 Combi 1100 Super Luxe from 1974.
The Daf 66 is nowadays already a rare sight, but the Combi version is even less commonly found.
Compared to the van/utility version, the Combi has a full rear seat, making the car suitable for the whole family.

The rear seat can also be folded down easily, creating a surprisingly large luggage space.
In this way, this classic combines the character of a passenger car with the practical features of a compact station wagon.

This DAF was new in Sweden.
That is clearly reflected in the overall condition of the car.
Because in large parts of Sweden traditionally far less road salt is used than in many other countries, cars there are often remarkably well preserved.
A particularly nice detail are the original, factory-fitted headlamp wipers.

This was then a luxury option for the Scandinavian market and is a feature that nowadays is rarely found.
The car now has a Dutch license plate.
Thanks to the current Dutch regulations, the car, due to its age of more than 50 years, is exempt from the APK inspection.

BODYWORK & PAINT:

The body presents nicely and makes a well-kept impression. The car sits nicely in the paint and looks fresh.
In the past, the paintwork has been touched up in some places. Additionally, as befits a classic of this age, there are some light signs of use and aging around the car.

However, these do not detract from the well-kept appearance of the car and fit a classic that has been enjoyed.
The underside also looks neat, thanks in part to the favorable history as originally delivered from Sweden.

TECHNICAL:

The reliable 1100 cc engine starts smoothly, runs neatly and provides a pleasant driving experience.
The car drives as a DAF should drive and is comfortable and relaxed to control.

As with any classic car, regular maintenance is always advisable, but the engine is characterized by the familiar "start and run" character.
The tires are somewhat aged. Although they are still functional at the moment, we advise a future owner to replace them eventually.

INTERIOR:

The interior is still in its original condition, which is nowadays a rarity.
The upholstery, dashboard and other interior details have retained their authentic look and are notably well preserved. Of course, with an original car of over fifty years old, some light signs of use are not excluded, but precisely the originality makes this interior particularly appealing to the enthusiast.

The practical rear seat can be easily folded down, creating a generous loading space. This makes the Combi not only a charming classic, but also surprisingly practical for everyday use.

DOCUMENTS:

With this DAF a lovely amount of original documentation has been preserved, which makes the car’s history even more interesting.
Present are, among others:
• Original instruction booklet
• Service book
• Warranty booklet
• Various historical technical inspection certificates
In addition, the car has a Dutch license plate and is exempt from the APK inspection.

When selling outside the Netherlands, the correct export documents are arranged.

Transport within and outside the Netherlands can also be organized in consultation.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
