Grimbergen is a Belgian abbey beer. It is brewed by Alken-Maes in Alken. Alken-Maes has been part of Heineken since 2008, but at the time of the acquisition the Grimbergen brand was allocated to Carlsberg Brewery. Heineken did receive a long-term license on the brand. For the Belgian market Alken-Maes makes the beer, but for foreign markets Carlsberg itself handles production, including at Brasseries Kronenbourg.
