Description from the seller
Antique Table Anvil with Double Horn – Stone Pin Anvil for Goldsmith/Watchmaker – Mid-20th Century
Fascinating and sturdy vintage tabletop anvil (also called pin-stone anvil or jeweler’s anvil), dating from the mid-1900s. This type of tool was essential in precision workshops, used mainly by artisans, goldsmiths, metalworkers, and watchmakers for manual shaping and fine hammering of metals. The tool features the classic and sought-after double-horn configuration: one conical (round) side and one pyramidal (square) side, perfect for performing millimetric curves and bends. At the bottom it is equipped with the traditional pin stem, originally designed to be firmly fitted into the square hole (hardy hole) of a larger forging anvil or into a bench wooden block.
The item retains a beautiful patina of time, enhanced by an original red protective paint from the era, partially worn in the areas of use, which accentuates its industrial character and historical authenticity.
Condition: In good vintage condition. Structurally solid, intact, and fully functional. It shows normal wear on the striking surface and paint chips consistent with age and workshop use. The surface patina does not affect the metal’s sturdiness. (Please view the photographic gallery carefully, which forms an integral part of the description).
Material: Forged steel / Heavy cast iron
Country: Italy
Dimensions: 30x17x5 cm
Weight: 3.7 kg
