Description from the seller
Sansui G-5500 stereo receiver, like new and completely original in every part.
It has no scratches or damage.
Fully functional and still with its original box.
A rare item and highly treasured in the world of collecting.
The Sansui G-5500 stereo receiver is a high-fidelity audio device of excellent quality, highly regarded by vintage hi-fi enthusiasts. The build and sonic quality stand out for the following technical aspects:
Pure Power DC technology: This direct-current configuration eliminates capacitors in the signal path of the final amplifier. The result is a clean, dynamic sound with no artificial coloration.
Very low distortion: It has a total harmonic distortion (THD) of just 0.03% at full power, an exceptional value for the era (late 1970s) that guarantees faithful audio even at high volumes.
Extended frequency response: It spans from 5 Hz to 50 kHz, well beyond the human audible spectrum and preserving the finest details of both high and low frequencies.
Premium tuner section: FM/AM reception is historically regarded as one of the strengths of Sansui's G series, thanks to excellent selectivity and the ability to lock onto weak signals stably.
Build quality: The heavy metal chassis, the solid aluminum front panel, and the knurled knobs machined from solid convey the typical mechanical robustness of devices "built like tanks" from that era.
