Description from the seller

Item Description
This is a Technics SL-10, the iconic quartz-locked, direct-drive, fully automatic linear-tracking turntable that Technics introduced in 1979. Housed in a solid die-cast metal body, the SL-10 was celebrated for its compact top-loading design, built-in MC head amplifier, and the ability to operate even when mounted vertically. A piece now held in the permanent design collection of MoMA, it remains one of the most respected turntables of its era.

The unit has undergone a full mechanical service focused on the tonearm drive system. Work performed includes: cleaning and light polishing of the cabinet, lid, and acrylic dust cover; cleaning and lubrication of the spindle; disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication of the tonearm drive motor; replacement of the drive belt with a new long-life type; cleaning and greasing of the rail and gear assembly; disassembly and cleaning of the tact switches and switch board to remove oxidation; cleaning of the switch cover with light polishing; cleaning of the lid inner cover and open/close button; high-viscosity oil applied to the arm lifter; stylus pressure set to 1.25 g; and start-point adjustment carried out.

The original platter illumination lamp had failed and has been replaced with a long-life white LED. All four insulator feet are genuine Technics parts; three are refurbished but all four provide stable support after cleaning. Rubber parts, springs, and screws have all been cleaned.

Following the service, the turntable was run for an extended test period and confirmed to operate correctly across LP and EP playback, including repeat function. The power cable is a genuine Panasonic unit with the older two-prong style plug; please note that modern "eyeglass" type power cables with wider prong spacing are not compatible with this unit. RCA cables are aftermarket but tested and working, with the turntable's ground wire soldered to the negative terminal of the white RCA plug.

Fitted is a Pioneer PC-290 cartridge (an Audio-Technica OEM MM-type design), paired with a brand-new, unopened Nagaoka "Gen-on" elliptical replacement stylus. The cartridge was confirmed working at the time of acquisition.

The full accessory set is included, along with a photocopy of the original instruction manual, so the turntable can be connected directly to any amplifier with a phono input, or to an external phono equalizer, and used immediately.

Rated specifications: AC 100V, 50/60Hz, DC 12V, power consumption 16W.

Size
Height: 9 cm
Width: 31.5 cm
Depth: 31.5 cm

Weight
6450 g / 6.45 kg

Condition
The unit has been fully serviced and tested, with all functions operating correctly on LP and EP settings. There is a shallow, non-removable paint scratch on the top surface of the upper cabinet; buyers seeking pristine cosmetic condition should be aware of this. The interior has been cleaned and is in good order. As a turntable now over 45 years old, minor unnoticed wear consistent with age should be expected.
