Analogue Cameras Auction (1900-1950)

Rare glass-plate camera of the 'Detective' type, dating from around 1900.
The camera is built of leather-grained wood with nickel fittings and features several viewfinders as well as a lens mounted on the front.
It is accompanied by its original carrying case as well as twelve 9 × 12 cm plate holders, comprising a particularly complete set and one that has become difficult to find.
The mechanisms appear complete. Photographic tests have not been carried out given the age of the set.
A very beautiful collector's item illustrating the early days of portable photography at the turn of the 20th century.
Condition as shown in the photographs, with a fine original patina.
The aesthetic condition is good for its age (see photographs). Mechanical operation has not been tested with photographic plates.

Rare appareil photographique à plaques de verre de type « Detective », datant des environs de 1900.
L'appareil est construit en bois gainé de cuir noir avec garnitures nickelées et comporte plusieurs viseurs ainsi qu'un objectif monté en façade.
Il est accompagné de sa valise de transport d'origine ainsi que de douze châssis porte-plaques 9 × 12 cm, constituant un ensemble particulièrement complet et devenu difficile à trouver.
Les mécanismes semblent complets. Les essais photographiques n'ont pas été réalisés compte tenu de l'ancienneté de l'ensemble.
Très bel objet de collection illustrant les débuts de la photographie portable au tournant du XXᵉ siècle.
État de conservation conforme aux photographies, avec une belle patine d'origine.
L'état esthétique est bon compte tenu de son âge (voir photographies). Fonctionnement mécanique non testé avec des plaques photographiques.
