Paris, circa 1930. A marble hallway, a dark wooden floor and this coat rack on the wall. Functional design with just enough grandeur.

This original French Art Deco wall coat rack combines a generous wooden back panel with glossy chrome-plated tubing. The geometric veneer forms a bold diamond pattern in various warm wood tones. The symmetry, rounded corners and streamlined metal construction fit purely within the French Art Deco period.

The design consists of a spacious upper rack for hats, scarves or accessories and a curved rod with six sliding hooks. Thanks to the nearly 90-centimeter width, the coat rack has an impressive presence without looking heavy.

The coat rack has been fully cleaned, carefully polished and made ready for use. The chrome gleams beautifully and contrasts sharply with the warm wood.

An unmistakable piece for a stylish entrance, townhouse, boutique hotel, clothing store, studio or interiors with Art Deco, modernist, eclectic or Hollywood Regency influences.

Condition

Good vintage condition, appropriate for an age of almost a hundred years.

The coat rack is fully polished and put in order. The veneer and geometric decoration present beautifully. In the original finish there is visible craquelure. This craquelure is stable and belongs to the age and authenticity of the object.
