Description from the seller
Fairfield H0 - 278 - Model tram (1) - Unbuilt HTM Ombouwer metal kit - HTM
Unbuilt HTM Ombouwer metal kit
2-axle drive
In 1905 Werkspoor delivered the series 21-101 to the N.V. Haagsche Tramweg-Maatschappij (HTM). In the period 1929-1931 it was decided that 81 motor cars from series 21-150 would be refurbished. This was carried out by several manufacturers, including La Brugeoise.
The revision of the trams was so drastic that it was better described as total new construction/conversion. The trams quickly earned the nickname "Ombouwer". Of the original cars only the middle section remained. New balconies were added to it, while the side benches were replaced by leather-upholstered transverse benches. In addition to these visual changes, the cars also underwent a technical revision. For example, the undercarriages were replaced with units with more powerful motors and the trams received new pantographs (current collectors).
The trams operated on virtually all city lines, with the exception of line 11. Some of the cars were also suitable for use as one-man cars, meaning without a conductor.
