AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This is an original antique Art Nouveau tile made by: Manufactures Céramiques d'Hemixem Gilliot & Cie, Hemiksem, Belgium. The decoration of floral motifs (thistle) is relief-decorated using the dust-pressed technique in which clay powder is compacted under high pressure in a mold. The tile is in a reasonable to good condition. This tile shows mainly wear to the relief. The back side is marked with an H, which is common for this factory and refers to the location: Hemiksem. I wrap the tile(s) with great care. I ship my packages with PostNL. All packages with a track & trace number.

Seller's Story

I have been trading antique tiles for almost 20 years. I sell medieval lead glazed floor tiles. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese tiles from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. Dutch tiles from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as tiles from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. I sell at special tile fairs in Germany and England, through Catawiki and eBay and through my website.
