Antique Moroccan koummya with original sheath, late 19th / early 20th century.
Curved steel blade, dark wooden grip and richly engraved brass fittings. The sheath has the characteristic curling form and is beautifully decorated with engraved brass and silver accents.
The dagger has a lovely old patina and clear signs of use. Especially at the tip and edge it is evident that this was not merely a decorative piece.
Length: 38 cm
Material: steel, wood, brass/copper alloy, silver
Origin: Morocco / Maghreb
Period: ca. 1880-1920
Condition: beautiful antique condition commensurate with age
