Set of 2 IKEA FROSTA stools – Alvar Aalto-inspired design – 1999
An iconic Scandinavian design that has been loved for years for its simplicity, functionality and timeless look. This set of two original IKEA FROSTA stools, produced in 1999, belongs to the early editions of this now-classic design.
The FROSTA is clearly inspired by the famous bent birch plywood of Alvar Aalto. The elegantly curved legs and the round seat form a minimalist design that effortlessly fits in both modern and vintage interiors. Thanks to the light construction, the stools are easy to move and versatile in use as a seat stool, side table, plant stand or nightstand.
The stools are made of laminated birch plywood and still bear the original IKEA label on the underside, dated 1999. Moreover, they are stackable, which means they take up little space when not in use.
A beautiful and increasingly sought-after early edition of a true design classic.
Condition
Both stools are in a neat used condition with light signs of wear consistent with age and use and two small saw marks as shown in the photo. Here and there there are small scratches, discolorations and minimal wear visible. See the photos for a good impression; these are an integral part of the description.
