Antique Romagna solid-wood sideboard dating from 1850–1900, made mainly of walnut, originating from Emilia Romagna, Italy, with a top hinged chest and a front drawer, dimensions 150 cm W × 95 cm H × 70 cm D, weight about 80 kg, can be locked, and in good used condition with age-related signs.
Description from the seller
An authentic Romagna solid-wood bread chest dating from the first half of the 19th century, originating from a farmstead in Romagna.
The piece features the traditional upper chest with a lift-up lid, a solution typical of antique bread chests used for storing bread and flour. On the front, there is also a drawer, recognizable by its two original knobs.
Made mainly of solid walnut with traditional artisanal techniques, it retains the old hardware, the original patina, and all the signs of time that attest to its authenticity.
The condition is good and consistent with its age. The large upper compartment (the chest) opens regularly and is fully usable. The front drawer, however, needs restoration work, since the original structure is present but the bottom is missing and will need to be rebuilt. The piece also shows normal signs of wear, small abrasions, and imperfections compatible with over 150 years of history.
An important Romagna rural furnishing, ideal for collectors, restorers, or for furnishing rustic and prestigious environments.
