Description
Prestigious 17-piece French porcelain dining set from the famous house Paul Lanternier (P.L).
This service is distinguished by its classic, timeless refinement: the rim features an embossed pattern with fine geometric grooves, enhanced by a double border consisting of a burgundy edge and a delicate frieze of arabesques and curls gilded in fine gold.
Composition of the set (17 pieces):
• 15 flat plates: Diameter 24 cm
• 1 oval serving platter: Dimensions 37 cm × 23.5 cm
• 1 round serving platter: Diameter 29.8 cm
Technical features & Marking
• Material: Fine French porcelain, renowned for its perfect whiteness, translucency, and high durability.
• Backstamp: Each piece bears the manufacturer’s golden guarantee stamp "BERRY HAUTE PORCELAINE – MADE IN FRANCE", associated with the crowned tricolor shield bearing the initials "P.L" for Paul Lanternier.
• The presence of the iconic P.L crest together with the modern designation "Berry Haute Porcelaine" indicates this is a late model or a reissue of a Lanternier classic by the Berry porcelain group, which held the brand rights at the time.
Condition
Excellent overall condition, close to new. The porcelain retains its original superb gloss. The decorations are remarkably preserved: the burgundy borders are intact and the fine gold gilding shows very little wear.
