Frame -

Elegant devotional cornice in carved and gilded wood, realized in the second half of the 19th century.
The work features a rich high-relief decoration with vegetal motifs and Rococo-style scrolls.
At the top there is a three-dimensional sculpture depicting a monkey placed among foliate elements, a decorative detail of particular interest and rare presence in this type of artifact.
The frame is entirely handmade and preserves the antique gilding with a natural patina of time. Originally intended to hold a devotional image, a relic, or a small mirror.
Conditions compatible with age: gilding wear, abrasions and small losses visible in the photographs.
