Antique set of Staffordshire dogs, ceramic, England

Beautiful antique set of “courtesan dogs” or Staffordshire dogs. The reference to courtesan dogs comes from the fact that these were once placed behind the window at the ladies of pleasure. If the dogs looked inside, the room was occupied. The set is in nice condition. Estimated around 1900.
The figurines are in good shape with minor signs of age; see the photos for a realistic impression.
