Description from the seller

Up for auction: one of the most elegant and robust American 35mm SLR/rangefinder cameras of the postwar era—the Argus c-forty-four (Model C44), produced in the United States in 1956. This exemplar stands out for the very rare original front graphic bearing the full “c-forty-four”. Fully mechanical and manual, in heavy die-cast metal, equipped with the original fixed lens Argus Cintagon Coated 50mm f/2.8.
The lot includes the original brown leather Pronto case shaped to fit.
Optics: The Cintagon 50mm f/2.8 lens shows clean, clear elements free of mold or fungus. The front anti-reflective coating is well preserved.
Mechanical: Central leaf-shutter tested, fires routinely. The shutter speed selector and the top dial move smoothly. The internal rangefinder system is active in the viewfinder.
Aesthetics: Very good overall vintage condition, as visible in the photo. Polished metals and sharply etched lettering. The leather case is structurally solid.
Tracked international shipping, fully insured, and professionally high-protection packing against shocks."
