Description from the seller
Guilloche frame in black lacquer with gold passepartout — Interlocking-corner joints — Late 19th century — MADE IN ITALY
This frame features the classic guilloche profile, with its finely regular reticulate pattern that covers the entire surface of the molding in a uniform and hypnotic way.
The corners are assembled with interlocking joints, a technique that guarantees structural solidity destined to last for centuries. The original black lacquer is intact and glossy.
The thin gold passepartout running along the inner edge completes the piece with a touch of precious warmth.
Suitable for oil paintings with dark subject matter, portraits, still lifes, black-and-white prints or ink drawings. It pairs naturally with both classical interiors and contemporary spaces that seek a strong and refined contrast.
