Miyako Ishiuchi - Mother's - 2002

For this work, Ishiuchi documented some of her mother's intimate possessions, symbols of femininity such as undergarments and make-up that were left behind. She combines these colour photographs with black-and-white nude details that she made of her mother in the year before she died. The first publication of this series of images which Ishiuchi made about her mother.

Copy with cardboard slipcase in excellent condition. Signed by the artist in red ink on first page. Small print run and now rare. Book is featured in Martin Parr and Gerry Badger, The Photobook: A History (Volume II).
