Large Paleolithic flint chopping tool from Wiméreux (Pointe-aux-Oies), dating to about 600,000–850,000 years ago, made of flint, with an overall length of about 93–80 mm.

Large palaeolithic chopping tool/nucleus from the well-known Wimereux findspot (Pointe-aux-Oies) that was already discovered in 1967 in the N of France.
The choppers from this findspot are made from generally fairly large flint nodules that were found there.

They are associated with an early Homo Erectus and Wimereux is probably the northernmost findspot of this industry.
This specimen has acquired a nice color palette over time on the razor edges. The actual color on the inside of the flint nodules is gray-black, visible at a few damaged places.
